Be In a New Music Video
Sunday, July 20 11:30 am - 1 pm
Gonzales Beach, Victoria
Organized by Mary Lloyd and Renn Butler, this Silent DJ beach dance will be a fun dancing event, as well as an opportunity to be in two music videos: “The Dream is Back” and “Loving Heart Solution” by World Rock Devotion (Renn and Todd Butler’s songwriting project).
Admission is $10 and you will receive a set of headphones. Wear fun and colorful clothing, and a change of top for variety partway through, if you want.
Hope to see you there!
Lyrics
It is not necessary to learn these lyrics and most people won't, which is totally fine. :-)
But if you want to learn the lyrics in bold below (the chorus and bridge parts), you can lip sync them with a few other people during the filming, and you will appear in more shots in the videos. (But everyone who comes will be in some of the shots.) :-)
Let me know if you would like to hear the music in advance. Email: rennbutler@shaw.ca. :-)
Loving Heart Solution
Mr. Jones preaches on from house to house
Working hard to be one of the chosen few
He raised eight kids, the way they told him to
His favorites didn’t make it, they just couldn’t take it
Connie is a / lab technician
Supervisor of / vivisection
Thought she was makin’ a better world, but instead
She’s got those monkeys screamin’ in her head!
Be a part of the synergy solution
Take a chance on your inner / evolution
Put your heart into a we-all-win solution
Feel the power of the inner revolution
Bob stopped believin’ in anything
He says it’s all a big conspiracy
He sees right through every facade
Of everything except himself, he thinks he’s God
Free, free
Free, free, free
Burn down the structures of your crumbling inner prisons
Storm the Bastille locking out your higher vision
Every heart is needed for the world to awaken
Look beyond the black and white and see what you can bring
Let the old world go
Let the new reality flow
Let your old world go
Let the new world flow

Be a part of the synergy solution
Take a chance on your inner / evolution
Put your heart into a we-all-win solution
Feel the power of the inner revolution

Note: The idea of inner revolution refers to the process of emotional healing and resolution of trauma that occurs during deep and systematic self-exploration.

The Dream is Back

The sun is out and old Dan’s sittin’ under his favorite tree
From the cappuccino bars the young people look at him curiously
They think he’s crazy, just another leftover from the Sixties
But if you take the time to listen, he’s longing to tell someone
He was here as a young man when it all / began
When a new sun blazed its promise on the land
A generation had a dream, a feeling that would last forever, it seemed
But when the curtain came down in ’72, he knew what he had to do
I believe in friendship and love, I believe in good things from above
We can be connected and free, create a caring world to be
Deep down I still believe in Beatles
I believe in you and me, you and me
In the heart of the sanest, loneliest man
He can feel something familiar and freeing
A new spirit stirring, a gentle dawn from West to East
But it’s a sad life when you’re the only one who remembers
How it used to be
It’s lonely when you’re the only one, the last ember
The way it could be
The spirit that he kept alive didn’t die, didn’t die
The love that we have inside is still there, don’t hide it
I believe in friendship and love, I believe in good things from above
We can be connected and free, create a caring world to be
Deep down I still believe in Beatles
I believe in you and me, you and me
When the last Be-In was over and the clouds rolled slowly across the sky
He had nowhere else to go, he just couldn’t say goodbye
The dream is back, the dream is back
The dream is back, what can we say
The dream is back, this time to stay
The dream is back, what can we say
The dream is back, this time to stay
The dream is back, what can we say?
The dream is back, this time to stay
The dream is back, the dream is back
